		<description>They call gconf as the registry editor of GNOME. Some times i feel thats true. It stores everything in xml schemas and it appears difficult to change any setting without gconf app. 

Leaving that topic aside, I was checking in my system whether the audible bell is selected in gconf. Yes it is selected. But still im not hearing the irritating system bell beeps. Even the pcspkr module is loaded. 

Do you know any other reason why im not hearing it? Im curious whether something else is there through which we can enable or disable the beeps..</description>
